FROM COMMUNICATION TO CONNECTION

How I approached internal communication within a global B2B organisation: combining strategy, storytelling, visualisation and experience design to make communication more useful, engaging and memorable. Designing internal experiences that connect people, brand and culture.

THE POINT OF VIEW

Internal communication is not just about communication.

It is about how people experience an organisation.

A message can inform.
A platform can enable.
A campaign can energise.
A learning programme can empower.

But when these experiences work together, they start to shape something bigger: connection.

My role was often somewhere between thinking and making, defining the communication approach, shaping the visual language, translating ideas into experiences, and working with others to bring them to life.

Make it useful. Make it human. Make it memorable. And make it possible for people to participate.

THE ECO-SYSTEM

Five initiatives. One connected intent.

1

BRAND CENTRAL

Make the brand easier to understand, access and use

2

WE@20

Turn a milestone into shared participation

3

SYNC'D

Create connection across regions

4

UNIVERSITY TALKS

Turn knowledge-sharing into culture

5

UNIVERSITY

Make learning discoverable and accessible

BRAND CENTRAL

The opportunity wasn't simply to create another repository of brand assets. It was to make the brand findable, understandable and actionable.

The SharePoint-based Brand Central brought together personal branding, brand guidelines, presentation tools, FAQs and requests in one destination.

I shaped the communication and experience approach, helped structure the information around employee needs, and translated the brand system into a more accessible digital experience.

WE@20

The 20-year anniversary was designed as a six-week, three-phase experience: Reflect & Remember, Engage & Celebrate, and Onwards & Upwards.

The programme brought together campaign identity, storytelling, memories, participation, volunteering, giveaways, branded backgrounds and regional activities: creating multiple ways for employees to connect with the milestone.

I helped shape the communication concept and visual direction, translating the anniversary narrative into a flexible system that could work across different moments, channels and forms of participation.

SYNC'D

Seven regions. One shared experience.

Sync’d was a week of cross-region engagement spanning seven regions, structured through teaser, reveal, throwback and townhall/celebration moments.

I worked on the communication strategy and visualisation of the experience, helping create a common narrative and identity that could work across regions while supporting local activation by the respective teams.

UNIVERSITY TALKS

Turn employees from an audience into a source of knowledge.

I helped develop the identity and communication system that gave the series a recognisable personality and made individual sessions feel part of a larger learning culture.

UNIVERSITY

Make learning feel like an experience, not a system.

The learning platform became a one-stop destination for skill-building, certifications, self-paced growth and learning sessions, supported by a new identity and launch communication.

I contributed to the identity, communication and launch experience:  translating the functional purpose of a learning platform into something more approachable, recognisable and motivating.
